Dr. Deric C. Simmons

As a Southern California native, I was raised in Manhattan Beach, and moved to Huntington Beach in 1979. After graduating from Brigham Young University in 1985 with a Bachelor's degree in Design, I attended The Southern California College of Optometry, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Visual Science in 1987 and a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1989. I have been practicing in Huntington Beach since then. I am married to a graduate of Fountain Valley High School, and have five children (4 boys and 1 girl), some of which attend Edison High School. Needless to say, my wife has to just sit quietly on the Edison side each year during the big football game. I am an avid sports fan, and enjoy participating in wakeboarding, bodyboarding, golf and tennis. I am also currently the scoutmaster for Troop 92 in Huntington Beach.
